Gunmen attacked the convoy of Abia State Commissioner for Trade, Investments, Commerce and Industry, Chibueze Ukaegbu, leading to the death of two mobile police officers.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday at Old Express Road by Faulks near Samek Junction at Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State.
In a chat with SaharaReporters, eyewitnesses said the hoodlums ambushed the commissioner while he was returning from a meeting with the leaders of various markets in Aba.
According to the publication, the remains of the murdered police officers had been deposited in the mortuary.
Meanwhile, a video of the incident seen by SaharaReporters on Wednesday morning shows a police vehicle on fire while the remains of one of the slain cops were on the ground in a pool of blood.
