Shehu Sani Reacts To Akpabio’s Statement On Senators Getting ‘Holiday Allowance’

Akpabio had in a video trending online, found himself in an embarrassing situation after revealing that money has been sent to senators to enjoy their holiday.

 
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has tackled the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio after he mistakenly revealed that lawmakers will get a token for going on recess.
 
Akpabio had during plenary stated that money has been sent to senators to enjoy their holiday.
 
Addressing his colleagues during plenary on Tuesday, Akpabio said ‘a token’ had been sent by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Magaji Tambuwal, to the lawmakers to enjoy their holidays.
 
The statement led to a rowdy session, and upon realising he was speaking before live television and journalists, Akpabio quickly retracted the statement.
 
Reacting via a Twitter post on Wednesday, Sani said crediting the accounts of lawmakers has always been done underground but Akpabio has revealed it to the world.
 
He wrote: “Crediting the Legislator’s accounts are done under the mute button, the Uncommon Senate President has mistakenly pressed the alarm.”
