The Ekiti State lawmaker arrested by federal agents has been released and hospitalized immediately due to his frail status.
Vanguard gathered that Akanni is now admitted at a private hospital in Abuja.

The Lawmaker who was very weak and could barely speak when Vanguard visited him at the hospital kept repeating; "I am not well. I am sick. I am sick," when a reporter sought to speak with him.
He said he was treated for malaria at the DSS detention facility after he collapsed twice.
He said his release may not be unconnected with his deteriorating health, adding that he was not told why he was held.
