A doctor married to a Nigerian woman has been warned after he had s*x with a prostitute in a hospital emergency room.

The tribunal told Rupert Pemsel, 32, his actions were deplorable and morally reprehensible and could cost him his career next time.

According to reports, the trainee anaesthetist admitted hiring escort Leanne Kennedy, 29, while on night duty.

A Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service panel heard the married dad of two romped with her for 40 minutes in his scrubs in between helping with emergency caesareans.

Tribunal chair Lisa Smith told Pemsel in a written statement: “The tribunal cannot comprehend why you thought it was acceptable.”

The tribunal frowned at Pemsel's behaviour after he admitted showing cops an X-ray picture of a patient with a bottle lodged in his bottom.

Police reported Pemsel to his superiors due to concerns over patient confidentiality. He had worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Southampton, for four months when he met the call girl.

Leanne Kennedy was invited by the doctor for sexual intercourse in the hospital emergency room

He was told at the hearing in Manchester he faces being struck off when the panel gives its verdict on Monday.

What the tribunal told him

The tribunal cannot comprehend why you thought it was acceptable to invite an escort to meet you at the hospital where you were working and to take her to an on-call room to engage in sexual activity.

Such behaviour is deplorable and morally reprehensible and that constitutes serious misconduct.

The tribunal is of the view that you had stored the (X-ray) image for you own amusement.

Without consent of the patient, you showed it freely, without being asked.

It was a breach of the confidentiality to which all patients are entitled.

Your behaviour amounts to serious misconduct.

Your fitness to practise is currently impaired.
