Fire Destroys Shops At Market In Borno Town

A fire outbreak has destroyed a community market in Gubio town in Borno State.

The fire incident occurred early Tuesday morning and destroyed all the lock-up shops in the market.

Pictures shared by NTA on its X (formerly Twitter) handle show the raging fire had completely destroyed the market.

Grains, agrochemical materials, provisions and some other commodities were reportedly destroyed as the traders counted their losses.

Mali Bulama Mali, the caretaker chairman of Gubio Local Government Area has visited the market to inspect the damage caused by the fire.

He promised to rebuild the burnt shops and assist the victims.
