Medical Doctor Abducted In Kogi

The State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), confirmed the kidnapping in a statement on Thursday, September 21.

Austin Uwumagbe, a medical doctor at Ogaminana in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

Dr. Uwumagbe was abducted shortly after leaving the hospital, Victory Hospital at Ogaminana, on Tuesday night, September 19, 2023.
 
The State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), confirmed the kidnapping in a statement on Thursday, September 21.
 
State NMA chairman, Dr. Baoku Olusola, and secretary, Dr Emmanuel Bola Jonah, in a joint statement, requested the immediate release of the medical doctor.
 
The association described the act as unfortunate and unacceptable.
 
“We write to notify you of the kidnapping of our colleague, Dr Austin Uwumagbe, who was said to have been abducted shortly after leaving his hospital (Victory Hospital-Annex) at Ogaminana, Adavi LGA of Kogi State. He was said to have been abducted with his car, an ash-coloured 406 Peugeot with registration number DAV 561 AA, at about 8:30 pm last night, September 19, 2023,
” the statement read.

The association said that the matter has been reported to security agencies in the state.
