A 9- member committee was yesterday set up the FCT Administration to investigate the death of Ms Greatness Olorunfemi at Maitama District Hospital in Abuja.

The Mandate Secretary, Health Services and Environment, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, who inaugurated the panel on Thursday, gave the members one week to submit their findings.

City & Crime recalled that the deceased was reportedly pushed down from a moving vehicle after she was severely injured by robbers along the Maitama-Kubwa Expressway.

She was said to have been rushed to the hospital, where she was allegedly not attended to before she died.

The Mandate Secretary said, “Today’s event, though a pathetic one, will go a long way in charting the means of improving and achieving efficient health care delivery. This is our major mission and commitment to the residents of the FCT.’’

Dr. Fasawe explained that members of the panel were nominated base on their wealth of experience to unravel what led to the ugly incident and proffer ways forward.

“We have explored the legal framework for establishing of an independent and investigative panel, the process of appointing and constituting a 9-person panel, and the role and responsibilities of the panel in investigating the alleged death and ensuring accountability. The aim is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the steps involved in addressing such incidents and promoting a culture of transparency and accountability in the Nigerian healthcare system.”
