A man has been locked inside the room by the roommate who brutally stabbed him before strangling him to death.
A man was allegedly strangled and stabbed his roommate to death over a minor disagreement at Byazhin Across, Kubwa, Abuja. It was learnt that the suspect locked the roommate inside the room before stabbing and strangling him to death.
The suspect ran away after killing the roommate. He is yet to be arrested.
According to Dailytrust, the deceased was abandoned in a pool of blood by the suspect who locked the door and escaped before a neigbour who noise from the room but did not suspect any foul play found out that the door to the room was locked from outside.
“We became more worried when we waited for him to come out as usual but to no avail. We then alerted the police who had to force the door open,” he said.
He said the police took the body of the deceased to the Kubwa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the hospital morgue.
The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo, said efforts were on to arrest the suspected killer, adding that investigation had commenced to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
