Veteran Broadcaster, Jike Attoh Is Dead

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu chapter confirmed he died on Wednesday.

Jika Attoh, a veteran broadcaster and communications expert, is dead.

He died at POSH Hospital, New Haven, Enugu State after battling months with an unknown illness.

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu chapter confirmed he died on Wednesday.

At the time of his death, Attoh was reportedly separated from his wife, with whom he had three children.

Attoh came to the spotlight from the popular Kaakaki program on Africa Independent Television (AIT) established by the late Raymond Dokpesi.

He later joined Cosmo FM then owned by former Enugu State governor, Chimaroke Nnamani.

The radio station reportedly became the first broadcast channel to run 24-hour services East of the Niger after Attoh joined.

Attoh also had a stint at the state-owned Enugu State Broadcasting Service where he improved its programming and service delivery.

The former news anchor at Channels Television was a tutor at West Africa Broadcast and Media Academy (WABMA) with speciality in broadcast training and management.
