The case of Oscar Pistorius who murdered his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp does not seem like it will die down anytime soon as her mother, June Steenkamp said the family will never get over their daughter's death inspite of the justice they got at the court.

This was said in an interview with SABC at the launch of her book 'Reeva - A Mother's Story' in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on Thursday night. Oscar Pistorius murdered his girlfriend by putting two bullets through her. According to his statement to the police, Pistorius said he thought she was an intruder.

A South African court had sentenced Pistorius to five years imprisonment but June Steenkamp does not think this is enough for them to completely forget Reeva's death. Steenkamp said that she was not concerned about the appeal process that her daughter's shooter Oscar Pistorius would launch, as it would not bring Reeva back.

"It is never going to happen. One is a fool if you think you can get over this. We will never get over this, we will never get closure. What is closure?" Steenkamp was quoted by the SABC. "Only if she could walk through the door would I have closure, if a miracle could happen and she could come back into our lives. We are devastated, my husband and I. She was everything to us."

Steenkamp said that she planned to use the money she had earned from doing international interviews to set up a shelter for abused women in Reeva's name.
