Prof Patrick Egaga, the Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar, has been abducted by gunmen.
Egaga, who is a professor at the Department of Special Education in the university, was abducted from his residence at the staff quarters on Sunday night, November 12, 2023.
It was gathered that the gunmen took away Egaga through the waterways in which they entered the staff quarters.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the incident on Monday said,
“We are working to secure his release."
The Public Relations Officers of the varsity, Mr. Effiong Eyo, also confirmed the incident, adding that rescue efforts are ongoing.
