'The President Did Not Order Sale of Presidential Aircrafts'- Presidency

Earlier reports claimed that President Buhari had ordered the sale of the airplanes in order to cut the cost of maintaining the planes.

 
Contrary to reports that went viral,  the Presidency has come out to deny that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the sale of nine aircraft in the presidential fleet.
 
Earlier reports had it that Buhari had ordered the sale in order to cut the cost of maintaining the planes.
 
However, the President’s media aide, Garba Shehu, on Friday, June 19, 2015, denied knowledge of the directive, according to Premium Times.
 
“The story of the order for the sale of aircrafts in the Presidential Fleet, about which so much interest is being expressed, is not known to us,” Shehu said.
 
The presidential aide said further that the Presidency would issue an official statement if indeed such a sale was being planned.
