The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience as the country’s democratic process unfolds.
Buhari stated further that making haste with Nigeria’s budding democracy would lead to mistakes.
The President made the call on Friday, June 19, 2015, during a visit to the Emir of his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar.
“If Nigerians continuously follows the tenets of democracy, the country will always be at peace since democracy on its own with its institutions has the mechanism for resolving conflicts peacefully,” Buhari said.
Buhari also said that his victory in the March 28 presidential election was due to the grace of God adding that he would fulfil his electoral promises to the people.
