9 Missing Bauchi Travelers Found In Jos

The Chairman of Kirfi Local Government Council, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, confirmed that the young men had been found.

The nine youths from Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi, who were reported missing in Plateau State, have been located in Jos.

Daily Trust had reported on Wednesday how the travelers were declared missing on Saturday after leaving their hometowns for Nasarawa State to earn a living.

The Chairman of Kirfi Local Government Council, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, confirmed that the young men had been found.

He said they were arrested by Operation Safe Haven, maintaining peace in the state.He said they  were released four days after they were detained by the military.

When contacted, the spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Captain Oya James, neither answered calls nor replied to a message sent to his phone regarding the accusation that the youths were tortured.

The father of one of the victims, Ahmed Ibrahim, also confirmed the release of the youths to Daily Trust.
