Sokoto: Police Arrest Community Health Officer For Treating Wounded Bandits

According to the Commissioner of Police, the health worker was the one treating injured suspects.

Jamilu B. Yusuf, a community health officer in Badon Hanya, Sokoto metropolis, has been apprehended by the Sokoto State Police Command. He is accused of allegedly treating bandits and kidnappers.

Parading the suspect on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Ali Kaigama, explained that he was arrested along with 12 others on their way to Tambuwal for a mission.

According to the Commissioner of Police, the health worker was the one treating injured suspects.

Kaigama added, “Three AK-47 rifles with 116 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.”

Yusuf, while speaking to newsmen, confessed to treating bandits anytime they sustained gunshot wounds.

He added that they were paying him up to N100,000 per patient.
