34-year old Chelsea FC captain, John Terry caught up with his fans in China when he arrived in Guangzhou as part of his 'JT Captain China Tour' on Sunday to spread football culture to the East Asian nation.
He was greeted by around 1000 supporters who scrambled for photo opportunities and received an award from the Guangzhou Football Association, naming him as an ambassador of football culture while he visited a Nike-sponsored football park where he did some keep ups and posed for photographs with some local children.
Speaking with TalkSPORT's Alan Brazil on Monday morning, Terry gave a little insight into the new venture that is taking place 7650 miles away from Stamford Bridge. 'I got invited over [to China] to be the ambassador of football and culture for the young kids over here. As soon as we heard about it I wanted to come and meet and see the kids. I'm very honoured to start the fan club and build the fan club for myself and Chelsea over here.'
