Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Named in the Prestigious 2016 #PowerwithPurpose Roll List

Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is all smiles as she is recognized in yet another prestigious international list of powerful women in the world.

Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been honoured again as she is named along with  other 4 influential and powerful women in the 2016 Power With Purpose Roll List. The prestigious award which recognizes outstanding and influential women with leadership focus who have helped in engineering recognizable change in their community and the world. She was named with four other outstanding women. The others are:
 
Christiana Figueres is a Costa Rican diplomat. She was appointed executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on May 17, 2010, succeeding Yvo de Boer. Figueres had been a member of the Costa Rican negotiating team since 1995, involved in both UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol negotiations. She has contributed to the design of key climate change models.
 
Eleni Gabre-Madhin is an Ethiopian economist and a former Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX). She has a PhD in Applied Economics from Stanford University, and bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Cornell University and Michigan State University respectively. Eleni was selected as "Ethiopian Person of the Year" for the 2002 ET calendar year (2009/2010 Gregorian) by the Ethiopian newspaper Jimma Times.
 
Kristalina Georgieva is a Bulgarian economist and administrator, currently serving as European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources in the college of the Juncker Commission. Georgieva is affiliated on the European level with the European People's Party (EPP).
 
Georgieva was named "European of the Year" and "EU Commissioner of the Year"[8] as an acknowledgment of her work, in particular her handling of the humanitarian disasters in Haiti and Pakistan. Previously, she had been nominated among the candidates for the category "Commissioner of the Year", the prestigious award organized by the European Voice newspaper.

Fayeeza Naqvi was born in Karachi. She studied Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, graduating in 1982. After a career in banking in London, she raised two young boys whilst immersing herself into volunteer work with social sector organizations in the Middle East and Pakistan over the last 25 years.
 
These amazing and talented women are at the forefront of creating the change our world desperately needs.
