Suspected Ritualists Behead Homeless Woman In Osogbo

Tension erupted around the Oke Baale area of Osogbo, on Tuesday morning after the headless body of a middle-aged woman was discovered.

The body was discovered behind shops opposite the Osogbo Local Government Council Secretariat

The woman, DAILY POST gathered was said to have been homeless and had been in the area for months.

Her hands were also discovered to have been cut off by her assailants who are allegedly ritualists.

Following the incident, traders and shop owners in the vicinity did not open their shops for business for fear of being arrested by law enforcement agents.

Residents and passersby were gathered at the scene around midday.

No security agents were seen in the area and neither did authorities of the local government make any effort to evacuate the corpse.

A resident, Lawal Akinwumi, stated that the dead woman had been beside the road, begging for months.

He also called on the relevant authorities to assist with the evacuation of the corpse.

“The victim had been homeless for some months and had been living beside the road in the area and begging for alms.

“We call on the state government and other appropriate authorities to evacuate the corpse and investigate the horrible killing of the woman.”


The Spokesperson of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, Kehinde Adeleke said she has not been briefed on the incident but promised to revert.
