The spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said the police were on the trail of the perpetrator.
DSP Ineh Donatus, a retired police officer, was tragically murdered in his residence near an NNPC pipeline on Agbor Road, Benin City, Edo State.
It was learnt that the corpse was discovered in his room by his son on March 27.
The spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said the police were on the trail of the perpetrator.
Chidi explained that on March 27, the DPO of Ikpoba Hill received a report from one Michael Agu that his father, DSP Ineh Donatus, had been killed.
He said Mr Agu arrived home from work and met his father’s door locked and that when he forcefully opened it he met the corpse of his father.
He further said that one Moses who started staying with the victim on March 19, fled the house after the killing of the officer.
