A 25-year-old British student has been arrested in Colombia over an alleged attempt to smuggle cocaine disguised as powdered milk.

Fahad Uddin Ahmed was caught at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport in Cali while trying to board a flight to London.

Customs officers discovered the drugs hidden inside packets of powdered milk during a routine search. Ahmed was then detained by Colombian police and is facing drug trafficking charges.

Local reports suggest that Ahmed was carrying around 10,000 doses of cocaine, although the exact weight of the drugs has not been confirmed.
