FCT Police Confirm Receipt Of N20M Bounty Placed On Wanted Kidnappers By Wike

CP Benneth C. Igweh, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has confirmed that the command has received the N20 million bounty placed on two notorious kidnappers by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The Commissioner made this known in a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh.

Adeh said the commissioner expressed “heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the management and personnel of the FCT Police Command for the kind gesture of the honorable minister, FCT, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for fulfilling his promise to the Command”.

Recall that the Minister on February 14, 2024, placed a bounty of N20 million on two notorious and most wanted kidnappers in the FCT.

The wanted criminal elements had since been arrested by operatives of the FCT command.

According to the CP, the implementation of such measures reflected “the minister’s leadership and responsiveness to the security and safety of residents.

“The Command is therefore highly honored and grateful for his unflinching and continuous support in combating crime and ensuring the well-being of the residents.

“The CP ensured that the fund was distributed amongst the tactical teams and the divisional police officers of the command to ensure better service delivery.

“The Commissioner also reassured the Minister and the residents of the territory that the command under his leadership will leave no stone unturned in the fight against crime and criminality in the nation’s capital”.
