Panel Beater: Welder Dragged to Court For Breaking Son's Hand Over N100

A man who beat up his son and even broke his hand has been arraigned before a court in Lagos.

 
Lekan Oyebade, a 28 year old welder, has been dragged to Abuke Egba Magistrates' Court in Lagos State, for allegedly beating his 10-year-old son with a cable wire and breaking his hand in the process over the sum of N100 he accused the kid of stealing.
 
The accused allegedly committed the crime at his residence at No.14, Akingbade Street, Igando area of the state and is now facing a two-count charge of assault and causing grievous harm.
 
The court heard that Oyebade committed the offences on June 13.
 
The prosecutor told the court: "The defendant beat up his son with cable wire and also broke his right hand, the victim sustained injury leading to the plastering of his hand."
 
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened sections 170 and 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
