A woman seeking urgent help from a so called Islamic cleric, has ended up in more troubles than anticipated.
The woman, Sahura Iliyasu, a divorcee approached a Malam with the intention of doing everything possible in order to win back the heart of her former husband to go back to her matrimonial home. However she has ended up with a new bouncing baby boy thereby dashing any hope for her return.
The Malam one Shehu Muntari of Kumbotso local government in Kano state, who has been discovered to be a fake, has owned up the baby and attributed his action to the work of the devil. However Shahura is insisting that she must have been charmed by the man.
Earlier on, Sahura was introduced to the “cleric” by her friend with the intention of drawing her former husband’s attention towards her since their separation 2 years back. However, the cleric in his tricky methods adapted on her, lured her where she consented and had s*x and became pregnant.
When interrogated by Hisbah officials who arrested him following the lodging of a complaint by her parents, the fake cleric admitted having s*x with her once but attributed it to the devil’s action.
He added that, it was during one of the prayer sessions he had with her that he developed love for her and eventually had canal knowledge with Sahura.
Speaking on the issue, the Commander-General of the State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa warned the public especially women over the patronage of dubious characters posing as Islamic clerics and restated the determination of the Board to prosecute the culprit in accordance with the laws the establishes Hisbah in the state.
