Federer bags 86th career title in Halle

Roger Federer beats Andreas Seppi in straight sets to claim a record-extending eighth title at Halle. Roger Federer has now won Halle tournament more times than any other and the top seed defeated Andreas Seppi 7-6, 6-4 in the Gerry Weber Open final and heads to Wimbledon in good click, believing he can win a record eight title at SW19 5AE when Wimbledon starts next week. The Swiss master now has 86 career titles up his sleeve.

El-Kanemi of Nigeria defeated massively by 4 goals to 1 at home in the NPFL

Candace Hill is in the news. The 16-year-old American high school student ran the 100m at an invitational meet in Seattle in a very fast 10.98 seconds to break the women’s world youth record. And this time in one of the top 10 fastest times for the women’s race in 2015. Afterwards Hill said she, “just had a feeling this would be a great race.” Her previous best time was11.21s that she ran last week.

Spieth takes second Golf major title

As the demise of Tiger Woods seemingly continued, 21-year-old Jordan Spieth won the US Open on Sunday to add to the US Masters that he snagged in April and he becomes the fifth golfer since1955 to win the first two majors in the same season after the likes of Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Hogan and Palmer.

Spieth also became the first man to hold two majors at the age of 21 since the Masters was formed in 1934 and could also become the first man to hold all four majors in the same season.

Footballers always try to be civil on match occasions but that was taken to an extreme in an Egyptian league match. Al Ahly were at home to El Gounah and with two minutes on the clock, one El Gounah player fell to the ground. Saad Samir rushed to the player and executed cramp massage but when that did not to solve the problem, he hefted the player and took him bodily off the pitch. Ahly are third on the log with six games to play.

It was supposed to be a historic day for Lionel Messi, who clocked 100 caps in an Argentina jersey but the little maestro was overshadowed by the selfie request from Jamaican forward, Deshorn Brown. Brown, instead of swapping jerseys with the star opted for the quick snap – called a selfie. Brown then bragged about his ‘trophy’ at a press conference later on as Jamaica exited the 2015 Copa America tournament with memories tinged not with their football but with Brown’s selfie.
