Gov Makinde Declares Friday Half Working Day For Oyo LG Election

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has declared Friday, April 26, 2024, as a half-working day for all public and civil servants in the state.

This decision is in preparation for the upcoming local government election in the state.

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, has scheduled the local government election for Saturday, April 27, 2024.

A circular issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, has instructed that government offices will close by noon on Friday.

Essential service personnel are required to remain at their posts. The statement encourages all public and civil servants to participate in the election and exercise their civic duties.

“Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the declaration of Friday, April 26, 2024, as a half working day for all public and civil servants in the state.

“This is in connection with the local government election slated for Saturday, April 27, 2024,”
the statement noted.
