Francis Adetunji Oladele, a pioneer in the movie industry reportedly gave up the ghost today, Monday, 22nd of June, 2015 around 8am after a brief illness.


The death of one of Nigeria’s pioneers of the movie industry has been announced. Francis Adetunji Oladele  reportedly gave up the ghost today, Monday, 22nd of June, 2015 around 8am after a brief illness.
 
Veteran film producer, Tunde Kilani expressed his sadness over this great loss using his Twitter account. Several other nollywood practitioner have been sending their condolence messages to honour the late icon. Mr Francis was 82.

Going down memory lane, he made some remarkable achievements. He established his film company Calpenny-Nigeria Films Limited, in 1965 and produced his first movie, 'Kongi’s Harvest', based on Wole Soyinka’s dramatic epic of the same title in 1970.
