A jilted police officer has done the unthinkable after he went to his girlfriend's house and shot her dead for some certain reason.
An Administration Police (AP) officer has disappeared after shooting dead his girlfriend at Wabera village in Isiolo town, Kenya.
According to News24, the Isiolo County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO) David Cheruiyot said the officer killed the young woman over love related issues.
He said the officer killed Halima Omar with a government-issued firearm on Monday morning after returning from a night security patrols.
“We are hunting him down and once found, he will face the law,” said Cheruiyot.
It was gathered that the police officer allegedly followed the deceased to her sister’s house where he found her preparing breakfast, shot her in the chest and then escaped.
While terming the incident unfortunate, Cheruiyot said the officer misused the government firearm which is meant to protect citizens.
The woman’s family called for immediate arrest and prosecution of the officer to serve them justice.
Police took the body to Isiolo County Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
