A 52-year-old school proprietor suspected to be a serial pedophile has been charged to court for sexually abusing a 5 year old pupil and another 3 year old pupil...
A 52-year-old man has been arrested and arraigned in a Lagos Magistrate court for raping a 5-year-old pupil in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The culprit, Isaac Ikiabeke who is the proprietor of Brighter Glory School, located on Etunrere Street is reported to have severally raped his victim after school hours.
“He has been doing it for some time. He has done it more than 10 times. I am not the only one. He does it with some of us after school hours. I could not tell anybody because he said if I did he would beat me”, the 5-year-old pupil told the police.
The grandfather of the lilttle girl however expressed his utmost displeasure at the proprietor's shameful act which he never got a wind of until the victim's classmates drew his attention to it.
“It was one of her classmates that told me what the school owner had been doing to her and I quickly went to report at the station, after which he was arrested”.
The Lagos State Office of the Public Defender received the report and prompt actions were take to prosecute the suspect.
Investigators also discovered that another 3-year-old pupil was also being sexually abused by the serial paedophile. The other victim is currently at the intensive care unit of an hospital.
The police on Monday, June 22 arraigned Ikiabeke before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on one count of unlawful sexual intercourse.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial.
The case has been adjourned till August 10, 2015.
