Controversy as Gunmen Reportedly Kidnap the Two Wives of Influential Kano Politician

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have abducted the two wives of an influential Kano politician, in Kibiya local government area of the state on Monday night.

According to a report on TheCable, two wives of Garba Fammar, an influential Kano politician in Kibiya, the headquarters of Kibiya local government area of the state was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday night.
 
A witness disclosed to News Agency of Nigeria that the suspects numbering about 40, stormed the residence of the politician around 2:00am, adding that the suspects arrived the town on motorcycles with dangerous weapons.
 
The witness also said that shortly after their arrival, the suspects fired several shots in air to scare people before whisking away with the two women to an unknown destination.
 
It was learnt that two members of the vigilante group were said to have lost their lives during an encounter with the hoodlums.
 
The police public relations officer (PPRO) of the state police command, Magaji Majiya, when contacted, confirmed the story and said that the Maigari Dikko, the police commissioner, and some top officers had already visited Kibiya town to access the situation.
