A man has left people totally baffled after he went into a rage, attacking his girlfriend and almost severing his own manhood.

The 30-year-old was found covered in blood on the pavement 15ft below his flat by horrified passers-by and taken to hospital.
He is said to be in a stable condition after being taken to Lille University Hospital in France to be treated for serious injuries.

Emergency services described him as an "extremely disturbed individual."
He was in an "agitated state" when they arrived on scene at 5 a.m.
His partner, 23, was seen for some injuries at a different hospital, St. Vincent's.
