Shock as Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Vicar General in Benue, Demand Huge Ransom

Gunmen have waylaid and whisked away a revered Catholic cleric in Benue, demanding huge ransom to release him.

The Vicar General of Catholic Diocese of Otukpo and Parish Priest of Catholic Church, Okpoga, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Adeyi has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
 
The Otukpa-born Catholic Priest, who recently celebrated his silver jubilee, was abducted on Sunday along Odoba Otukpa-Okwungaga road.
 
He was on his way to Otukpa, the headquarters of Ogbadibo LGA when he was whisked away to an unknown destination.
 
Meanwhile, a family source hinted that the abductors had called, demanding the sum of N25m.
 
“At about 30 minutes later, they reduced it to N10m,” the source said.
