Archbishop Ekpu passed away at the age of 92 after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 7:09 pm.
Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu, the Emeritus Archbishop of Benin City Archdiocese, has died.
Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oyanoafoh announced this on behalf of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin in a statement made available to journalists in Benin on Wednesday.
Archbishop Ekpu passed away at the age of 92 after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 7:09 pm.
Very Rev. Fr. Oyanoafoh stated that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced later.
He urged priests, religious members, and lay faithful of the Catholic archdiocese to remember Archbishop Ekpu in their prayers.
"May he rest in peace, and may the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen," he added.
