Senate President, Bukola Saraki Shuts Down the Senate....See Reason

Reports hitting the media space reveals the Nigerian Senate of the 8th assembly has been shutdown for a lengthy period of time.

The Senate has been shutdown for one week for the Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), commencing next week.

The Senate President Bukola Saraki today announced the suspension of plenary till next Thursday to enable the PDP Senators attend their party congress.

A DailyTrust correspondent reports that only six PDP Senators attended today's sitting.
 
Saraki has been in the news of late for the wrong reasons following his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal over charges of corruption and false declaration of assets.
