On Sunday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar held a secret meeting with the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, at his private residence in Dutse. The two personalities had a closed-door meeting, after which at the end of the meeting, both Lamido and his visitor came out smiling.

On Sunday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice-President and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, held a secret meeting with the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, at his private residence in Dutse.
Atiku first met with the APC delegates at a three-star hotel before meeting with the governor at his private residence. According to THISDAY, the two personalities had a closed-door meeting, which lasted for two hours after which at the end of the meeting, both Lamido and his visitor came out smiling.
Though Atiku did not brief journalists on purpose of his visit, it gathered that it might not be unconnected with his presidential ambition in 2015 and to lure the governor to his party, the APC. Atiku had ealier met with the state APC executives and delegates ahead of party’s presidential primaries, promise that he would not give up on his bid to become the president of this country now or in the future.
I will continue to aspire for the presidency beyond 2015 and until I succeed in occupying the office of the president. I will support whoever becomes the presidential candidate of the party, I hope it will be me,” he said.
The former vice-president, however, said t his chances of winning his party’s primary on December 10 were bright. He also said he was ready to support whoever emerges at the primary election to ensure that person’s victory at the 2015 presidential election.
