A mother has been left shell-shocked after discovering that her baby boy was born without an anus leaving his stomach swollen.

A mother identified as Ennang Wushikka from Pankshin LGA, Jos has shared the shocking pictures of her baby born without an anus. The medical condition is called imperforate anus.
It was gathered that the mother gave birth to the baby at her home. It was after the delivery that the noticed that her son's stomach was getting swollen and after taking him to the hospital, she was shocked to discover that the baby had no anus.
Doctors at the state specialist hospital revealed that the case is not new. But, they have warned that if nothing is done swiftly, the baby might die. According to the doctors, a surgery has to be conducted soon to carve out an anus for the little baby for him not to die.
Imperforate anus
Imperforate anus is a defect that is present from birth (congenital). The opening to the anus is missing or blocked. The anus is the opening to the rectum through which stools leave the body.
