How Friends Persuaded Alleged Wife Killer, Lekan Shonde to Surrender (Photo)

The man who allegedly beat his wife to death and then absconded afterwards, was finally apprehended by the police in the Ikeja area of Lagos. New details have emerged of his arrest.

 
Lekan Shonde has been in the news headline for days now for the alleged murder of his wife, Ronke, as reports suggets he beat her to death last week Thursday in their apartment at the Egbeda area of Lagos state.
 
Lekan was finally arrested today in Ikeja after days on the run, and a new report on Encomium, reveals that his friends persuaded him to give himself up, report to the police, and face the full wrath of the law.
 
 
It was gathered that efforts to get him to surrender began early this morning (Monday, May 9th) when his friends contacted Chris Kehinde Nwandu, a popular blogger and some people. They were advised to come to Ikeja with Lekan. 
 
They met at a hotel in GRA Ikeja, Lagos, around 11:30 am and after a short discussion, they moved to the Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, to meet with the commander of the Rapid Reponse Squad, Tunji Disu, around 12:00 noon.

From the secretariat, they moved to the office of Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, who handed over the suspect to the homicide section in Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
