Accoording to reports making the rounds, a substantive national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge in July.
This was disclosed after the Board of Trustee (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met in Abuja.
Also, the PDP Post-election Review Committee, led by Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu was granted a 10-week extension to finish their work.
Speaking after the meeting, the secretary of the BoT, Senator Walid Jubrin, said, “like you are aware the appointment of the acting
Chairman Is for three months and after three months we will seat again, because by our constitution the board of trustees regulates it’s own activities. We will regulate our own activities when the time comes.”
Following the forced resignation of the former chairman, Adamu Mu’azu in May 20 this year, the deputy national chairman. Uche Secondus was elevated to the chairmanship position albeit in acting capacity.
The party further declared that the substantive chairman would emerged from the North East where the position was zoned to in 2012.
