Tayo Oyeladun, an Ibadan-based broadcaster, has raised an alarm over alleged threat to his life.

Oyeladun who works with Lagelu FM Ibadan made the claim via a save my soul message posted on his Facebook page on Thursday.

The broadcaster in the statement noted that trouble started shortly after he presented a programme on the radio on Saturday.

Oyeladun particularly mentioned that the Chief Press Secretary to the Soun of Ogbomoso Reverend Peter Olaleye reached out to one of his senior colleagues to express his grievances about the comments of the guest on the radio programme.

He said that he had been receiving threat messages from different people from Ogbomoso since then.

“The past few days have been hard for me and my family! I am facing death threats for doing my job as a broadcast journalist. I believe in balance opinion and free speech in a democratic setting. I’m living in a society where system favour the elite and those in position of authority.

“I have become a soft target in elite chess games and their pursuit of self-aggrandizement. There is pressure from high places to get me sack of my job! If I loose my job or life will they take care of my children and family? My offense? being a child of nobody. Friend and family please keep praying for my safety. You will hear from me at the right time”.

While speaking with DAILY POST on Thursday, Oyeladun said that the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso has petitioned the NBC over the matter.

“After my last Saturday programme tagged “Bosenlo” CPS to Soun Ogbomoso reach out one of my senior colleague to express his grievances about the comments of one of my guest. Since then, I began to received strange threats calls till now.

“Soun palace has petitioned NBC as that was not enough people from Ogbomoso continue to threaten me with all sort of evil things. I cried out because I didn’t want to die young. Surprisingly, the palace didn’t use this energy against the guests. So, I became a soft target”.

But, Chief Press Secretary to the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Reverend Peter Olaleye when contacted, said that he did not use any threat message against the broadcaster.

Olaleye who spoke with Daily Post Thursday night, however, said that the people of Ogbomosoland are angry about the comments made on the programme.

He described the comments as derogatory against the people of the ancient city.

“I do not use any threat words. I told them that what they did is not good. I decided not to call him. He promised to send reaction to me. That I threat him is a lie. But, the people are angry. They did it deliberately. I dare him to provide the evidence”. (sic)
