The Nigerian Navy, through its troops of Operation DELTA SANITY, has announced the discovery and deactivation of multiple illegal refinery sites around Kubufari Community in Degema LGA, Rivers State.

In a post on its verified Facebook page on Friday, it stated: “Operation DELTA SANITY: On Wednesday, 22 January 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER discovered and deactivated numerous illegal refining sites around Kubufari Community, Degema LGA, Rivers State.

“Additionally, on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, NNS PATHFINDER discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site with 8 cooking pots, storage tanks, 15 dug-out pits, and a reservoir laden with a large amount of illegally siphoned crude oil within Kubufari Community, Degema LGA, Rivers State.”
