PSC Retires Senior Police Officers Above 60, 35 Years in Service

The Police Service Commission has announced the immediate retirement of senior police officers who have spent more than 35 years in service and those above 60 years of age.
 
PSC revealed that the decision was taken at its 24th Plenary Meeting of 27th and 28th September 2017
 
This was contained in a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations.
 
The statement also advised the new entrants in the Force to have their date of appointment against the date of their enlistment.
 
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu, presided over the extraordinary meeting, which had Justice Adamu Paul Galumje, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and commissioner representing the judiciary; DIG Taiwo Lakanu, commissioner representing the police and Chief Onyemuchi Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission, in attendance.
 
The Commission’s decision has been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation.
