This breaks down to approximately N83.3 million per month and N2.7 million daily, based on a 30-day month.

A review of Borno State's approved 2025 budget by SaharaReporters has revealed that the Government House has earmarked N1 billion for generator fuel in the upcoming fiscal year.

This breaks down to approximately N83.3 million per month and N2.7 million daily, based on a 30-day month.

Additionally, assuming fuel costs N1,000 per litre, this budget implies a daily consumption of 2,777 liters of fuel.

This development comes as the government has allocated N2 billion for the purchase of "Power Generating Sets" for the Government House. Additionally, N800 million has been earmarked for fueling motor vehicles in the 2025 fiscal year.

Further breakdowns of the budget reveal that N400 million is allocated for refreshments and meals, while honorarium and sitting allowances are expected to cost N500 million.

Another N400 million has been set aside for motor vehicles within the Government House.

The government plans to spend N400 million on office furniture and fittings, while an additional N50 million is allocated for canteen and kitchen equipment.

In Borno State, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government has earmarked N1 billion for office furniture and fittings in 2025.

This comes alongside a budget of N2 billion for generator purchases and N1 billion for fuelling them, despite the state’s struggles with widespread poverty, affecting over 900,000 residents.

Additionally, 48% of school-age children in Borno lack access to education, while 47% are deprived of proper sanitary facilities.

The state continues to grapple with insecurity, resulting in loss of lives and property, even as Governor Babagana Zulum has raised concerns over dwindling revenue.
