According to a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Rufus Bature, the government has declared a curfew following incessant clashes in the state.
The Plateau State Government has officially declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local government councils of the state over the incessant killings in the areas.

“The curfew will be indefinite until the security situation and spate of attacks is effectively checked by security operatives,” he stated.
The Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria and Chairman of Barkin Ladi local government area, Emmanuel Loman, however said the curfew is the only solution to the genocide attacks in the areas.
For a long time now, villagers have been under constant attacks from fulani herdsmen, an act which has resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
