The beggars in the northern part of Nigeria are putting up a tough fight against the state governor, El-Rufai over his ban on begging in his state.
A group of physically challenged beggars in Kaduna state, stormed the secretariat of the Kaduna Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to hold a demonstration against Governor Nasir El Rufai's decision in banning them last year .
Speaking on behalf of the Civil Disabilities Center journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday , a spokesman Comrade Rilwan Muhammed said, El Rufai deceived them during the 2015 campaign, saying he would help them if he wins.
The beggars noted that before the state could ban them from begging, the governor should pass the State Disability Bill into law .The beggars said they would not stop the strike until their requests are met.
