Senator Ned Nwoko's defection to the All Progressives Congress has been confirmed by the Senate.
It was formally announced on Wednesday at the Senate.
Citing worsening instability and internal crises within the PDP, Nwoko stated that the party’s current state poses a threat to his political career, prompting his decision to switch allegiance.

In addition to his defection, the senator in a correspondence read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, urged the Senate to establish an ad hoc committee to investigate the ongoing crisis within the PDP.
