UNIZIK Finally Releases Statement Following Incident Involving Its Lecturer And Student

The management of the university has assured the public on looking into the matter unbiasedly, and pursuing the truth.

 
The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University UNIZIK has reacted to a video of a student assaulting one of its lecturers.
 
Recall that we had reported that a female student was caught on camera assaulting her lecturer for interrupting her video.
 
The management of the university has assured the public on looking into the matter unbiasedly, and pursuing the truth.
 
They wrote …
 
“THE INCIDENT INVOLVING A LECTURERAND A STUDENT
 
The Management of Azikiwe Awka has been made aware of disturbing incident involving Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer in Department of Theatre Arts Film and Goddy Mbakwe Precious a 3rd student in the department of History and International Studies. The incident. which has gained Significant attention on media, is taken very seriously by thc In line with Our core values of discipline, self-reliance, and excellence. and in adherence to the principles of fair hearing. equity. and justice. thc Acting Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Joseph I. Ikechcbclu. has ordered a full-scale. transparent. and unbiased investigation into the matter.

We urge all concerned parties and members of the public to remain calm as we diligently pursue the truth. university is committed to upholding discipline and
decorum. and we will ensure that appropriate actions and sanctions are taken based on the outcome of the investigation.

form Of unacceptable behaviour Within our community.
