Throwback! This is What Kachikwu Said About Subsidy Removal During Ministerial Screening

As the fuel subsidy removal and the consequent hike in fuel price continues to elicit groans from Nigerians, we flash back to what Kachikwu said about it only months ago.

The honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu about seven months ago, on 14th of October 2015, stood before the Nigerian Senate to be screened for a ministerial position.
 
He was asked what he thought about fuel subsidy removal and he vehemently rejected the idea, calling it "unrealistic"
 
Below is how the Nigerian Senate wrote it on their official twitter page at the time:
 
 
Nigerians on social media have blasted the minister asking why it was unrealistic in October 2015 and realistic now.
