Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor, and Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Biodun Oyebanji of Ondo and Ekiti respectively, arrived at Lagos House, Ikeja for the South-West Governors’ meeting as of noon Thursday.
Others who later arrived were Governors Dapo Abiodun and Ademola Adeleke of Ogun and Osun states respectively.
The governors were immediately ushered into the executive chamber of the state governor.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, chairman of the forum, is hosting his colleagues in a crucial meeting bothering on issues of common interest.
The media is, however, expected to be briefed at the end of the meeting.
According to an earlier statement by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, “The South-West Governors’ Forum will discuss issues of common interest, such as agriculture and food security, to advance economic growth, foster collaboration and enhance development initiatives in the Zone.
“Security of lives and property will also be part of the agenda.”
A similar meeting was held in Lagos on June 10, 2024, when Sanwo-Olu was unanimously appointed as chairman of the forum.
