Thugs Attack Sowore, Crew Members, Journalists At Lagos City Marathon (Video)

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), was brutally attacked by the APC thugs alongside his crew members while participating in the marathon.

On Saturday morning, Omoyele Sowore, the Nigerian human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, was attacked by people who are said to be the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs, at the ongoing Lagos City Marathon.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), was brutally attacked by the APC thugs alongside his crew members while participating in the marathon.

The thugs also attacked journalists covering the Lagos City Marathon, injured many of their victims, and destroyed their cameras and other gadgets.

In a video of the attack streamed live on Facebook by SaharaReporters, the thugs could be seen physically assaulting Sowore, his crew members and the journalists.
One of the thugs was seen grabbing the neck of a journalist who was holding his camera, trying to seize breath from the journalist and hack him to death.

It is yet to ascertained why the APC which in power in Lagos and at federal level sent thugs after Sowore, his crew members and journalists at the Lagos City Marathon which is open for every Nigerians and beyond to participate.

At the time of filing this report, the state of Sowore’s health and all the people attacked and injured by the APC thugs still remain unclear.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Lagos Police Command on the matter failed as the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, did not answer calls made to his mobile phone number.
