Two Men Arrested For Gang-r@ping 12-year-old Girl In Yobe

The spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 16, 2025, said police operatives also rescued a 15-year-old kidnap victim after a gun duel and recovered dangerous weapons, including a single-barrel gun.

Two men have been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for gang r@ping a 12-year-old girl and inflicting injuries on her in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
 
The spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 16, 2025, said police operatives also rescued a 15-year-old kidnap victim after a gun duel and recovered dangerous weapons, including a single-barrel gun.
 
“On February 15, 2025, at about 15:30 hours, Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters apprehended Bawa Saidu (22) and Weti Saleh (25) of Jalingo Village, Tarmuwa LGA,” the statement read.
 
"The suspects conspired and gang-r3ped a 12-year-old girl, inflicting serious injuries. The victim received immediate medical attention, while the suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Damaturu for discreet investigation.
 
"In a separate incident, Gujba Divisional Police Headquarters collaborated with Vigilante to rescue Hassan Alh Yau (15) of Kojolo Hamlet, Dadawel Village. The victim was kidnapped on February 12, 2025, by criminal elements demanding a ransom.
 
"The successful rescue operation resulted in the recovery of dangerous weapons, including a single-barrel gun. The suspects fled after a gun duel, leaving the victim and other belongings behind. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
 
"As security strengthens in Damaturu, the state capital, some miscreants were apprehended using an uncompleted building at Alimari Ward, Damaturu, to conceal stolen properties.
 
"A Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call and swiftly mobilized to raid the building, arresting three suspects, including Sale Ahmadu of Nasarawa ward, the gang leader. The suspects were found in possession of a dismantled motorcycle and other stolen items. They confessed to the crime during interrogation.
 
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, commended the efforts of the Command, reiterating its sustained commitment to fighting criminal elements in the state.”
