Police Reacts To Viral Video Of Suspected Kidnappers Apprehended In Ago Okota

According to him, the case has not been reported to the appropriate authorities, however, there are ongoing probe to unravel the circumstances surrounding the men who were caught for alleged kidnapping.

The Lagos State Police Command has reacted to a viral video of three suspected kidnappers being questioned after they were allegedly caught at Victory Estate in Ago, Lagos State.

In the video, the men were stripped and flogged by residents after they were apprehended.

During interrogation, the suspects identified themselves as Ifeanyi (from Anambra State), Stanley Emmanuel aka Davido (from Imo State), and Sadiq (from Kwara State). They claimed Davido was the group leader who brought them all together.

All three suspects admitted they came to the neighbourhood to "kidnap" but vowed not to return to the neighbourhood again.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, reacted to the video after it was shared on X. 

According to him, the case has not been reported to the appropriate authorities, however, there are ongoing probes to unravel the circumstances surrounding the men who were caught for alleged kidnapping.

He wrote, "This matter was not reported to the Police. However, investigations have commenced to unravel what truly transpired, locate the men and take further necessary actions.

"The estate chairman, two other exco members and a resident are currently assisting the Police with the ongoing investigations. Further updates will be provided in due course."
